Berlinale Talent Campus #9

February 12 – 17, 2011

Grande Format

updated: August 17, 2010

Taking place in HAU 1, this format consists of large public events with topics that are of general relevance to all Talents. High-profile directors, producers, actors, editors, cinematographers, and production designers of international reputation share their experience in moderated lectures and panel discussions. The Experts offer insight into various working methods and provide a background that ranges from all aspects of film production to promotion. Many of these events will relate to current issues addressed in the cinema showcased at the Berlinale Film Festival, as well as reflect the focus of the Campus 2010, "CINEMA NEEDS TALENT: LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT PEOPLE".

The ‘grande format’ is usually moderated and prepared by people with a special relation to the guest speakers; they are usually experienced film critics or film professionals. These events are highly attractive to Talents as well as to the public due to the unique manner in which high-profile guests share their experiences in a classical proscenium space. HAU 1 embodies an ‘In the Limelight’ atmosphere, where the audience members can gather inspiration from cinematic role models and their successful productions.
