Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH

Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH is the product of the merger of Filmboard GmbH and Medienbüro. Since January 1st, 2004, the Berlin and Brandenburg agencies for film financing and location promotion have been proving that two states are better than one. Only a composite image of the Berlin and Brandenburg media industry does justice to the region's potential. Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry statistics show that the region's 10.000 media and communications companies employ about 115.000 workers. The 40% growth rate in film and television and an annual turnover of about € 800 million are unsurpassed in Germany. The Berlin-Brandenburg media industry is versatile and vigorous. Maintaining and strengthening its artistic, financial and technological resources are the missions of the newly incorporated Medienboard GmbH.

The Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is one of the principal Co-operation Partners since the very beginning. The Medienboard helped to initiate the Berlinale Talent Campus and has provided comprehensive support for the programme meeting and for the Dine & Shine Talent Dinner.

The Berlin Today Award, the short film competition of the Berlinale Talent Campus, is supported by the Medienboard since 2003. In 2010 the seventh edition of the Berlin Today Award is guided by the motto "Straight to Cinema". Five selected short films from young directing Talents, each a maximum of 10 minutes in length, are produced by an emerging German production company. The short films celebrate their world premiere during the Berlinale Talent Campus. The winning film, chosen by a jury, will receive the Berlin Today Award during the Dine & Shine Talent Dinner.
