TALENT CAMPUS BUENOS AIRES


The Universidad del Cine announces the fifth edition of the Talent Campus Buenos Aires: April 10-13, 2010.

Up-and-coming filmmakers from South America are invited to apply for the Talent Campus Buenos Aires, which will take place on April 10-13, 2010 during the activities of the BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Film Festival) and in cooperation with the Berlinale Talent Campus.

The aim of the Talent Campus is to create a context of participation and communication among up-and-coming filmmakers in order to contribute to their education through exchanging visions with relevant figures from the cinema industry.

During the four-day programme, workshops and seminars will take place presented by professionals, academics and intellectuals from the region and the entire world, bringing a theoretical and practical vision that will enrich the participants’ cinematographic education. Apart from the specific activities organised by the Campus, selected participants will be able to attend the 12th Buenos Aires International Film Festival (BAFICI), where they will be able to improve their experience in cinema.

Screenwriters, producers, directors, directors of photography and sound designers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay or Venezuela are eligible to apply.

The fifth edition of the Talent Campus Buenos Aires will explore documentary cinema. For the first time, the Talent Campus Buenos Aires will present 4 different Campus Studio programmes, which will enable selected participants to work together with an expert on a concrete issue within documentary cinema: Campus Studio DOC project, Campus Studio Editing, Campus Studio Red Cam, Campus Studio Documenting 5°Talent Campus Buenos Aires.

In addition, the Talent Campus Buenos Aires, together with BAL (Buenos Aires Lab), will give the chance to its previous participants to present a project to participate in the “Co-production meetings” that take place during the 12th BAFICI. One project will be selected and a representative will get the chance to travel to Buenos Aires to meet producers, international distributors, and world funds interested in Latin American productions.
