Talent Campus Buenos Aires 2010

updated: August 3, 2010

The fifth Talent Campus Buenos Aires took pace from April 10-13, 2010 at Universidad del Cine during the BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Film Festival). The theme was "Documentary Cinema".

The aim of the Talent Campus is to create a context of participation and communication among up-and-coming filmmakers in order to contribute to their education through exchanging visions with relevant figures from the cinema industry.

During the four-day programme, workshops and seminars took place presented by professionals, academics and intellectuals from the region and the entire world, bringing a theoretical and practical vision that enrich the participants’ cinematographic education. Apart from the specific activities organised by the Campus, selected participants were able to attend the 12th Buenos Aires International Film Festival (BAFICI), where they could improve their experience in cinema.

Screenwriters, producers, directors, directors of photography and sound designers from South America were eligible to apply.

The fifth edition of the Talent Campus Buenos Aires explored documentary cinema. For the first time, the Talent Campus Buenos Aires presented 4 different Campus Studio programmes, which enabled selected participants to work together with an expert on a concrete issue within documentary cinema: Campus Doc Station, Campus Editing Studio, Campus Red Cam Studio and Campus Studio Documenting 5°Talent Campus Buenos Aires.

In addition, the Talent Campus Buenos Aires, together with BAL (Buenos Aires Lab), gave the chance to its previous participants to present a project to participate in the “Co-production meetings” that took place during the 12th BAFICI. One project was selected and a representative got the chance to travel to Buenos Aires to meet producers, international distributors, and world funds interested in Latin American productions.
