Skillset and UK Film Council
Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries (broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo imaging). Jointly funded by industry and government, their job is to ensure that the UK audio visual industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, to maintain competitive industries.
They conduct consultation work with industry, publish research and strategic documents, run funding schemes and project work, and provide information about the challenges that face the industry and what Skillset needs to overcome them. Skillset also provides impartial media careers advice for aspiring new entrants and established industry professionals, online, face to face, and over the phone.
The UK Film Council is one of the original initiators of the Berlinale Talent Campus. Skillset started its Co-operation with the Campus in 2005 and is hosting sessions like "Two directors sharing their secrets" and "The indie filmmakers guide to the internet".
