Personal tutoring, coaching and training of participants from different fields of work. The hands-on training programmes of the Berlinale Talent Campus require an additional application, in certain cases related to a project you’re currently working on.
Berlin Today Award
The Berlin Today Award is the Short Film Competition of the Berlinale Talent Campus. It offers five talented directors the chance to produce a short film in cooperation with a Berlin / Brandenburg based production company. The five finalist films celebrate their world premiere during the Opening ceremony of the Berlinale Talent Campus. The winning film, chosen by a jury, receives the Berlin Today Award during a gala ceremony.more
Score Competition
The Score Competition invites composers and sound designers to compose a new soundtrack for selected film material. An international jury will select three talented composers who will have their newly written scores recorded with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and finalized in a professional sound and editing studio during the Berlinale Talent Campus. One finalist will receive an award for his/her outstanding score. The award is a trip to Los Angeles with an exclusive guided tour of the best sound studios in the city sponsored by Dolby.more
Talent Project Market
The Talent Project Market (TPM), organized in cooperation with the Berlinale Co-Production Market, offers young producers and directors the opportunity to present their film projects to experienced co-producers and financiers. You can apply with a feature film project for theatrical release and suitable for an international co-production.more
Script Station
For the Script Station, 10 - 12 feature film screenwriters are selected by an international jury to participate in one-on-one feedback sessions with internationally renowned script consultants in order to improve and further develop their scripts. During the Berlinale Talent Campus, personal sessions with these experts are arranged to provide you with concrete feedback and guidance. Please note that the Script Station is not intended as a platform for finding producers or financiers, the Script Station is all about strengthening the narrative of your story.more
Doc Station
For the Doc Station, 10 - 12 feature-length documentary projects are selected. The filmmakers participate in one-on-one feedback sessions with internationally renowned documentary experts. During the Berlinale Talent Campus, personal sessions with these experts are arranged to provide concrete feedback and guidance and further develop the project. Please note that the Doc Station is not intended as a platform for finding producers or financiers but is all about improving and developing the narrative structure of your documentary project.more
Talent Press
Eight young journalists come to the Berlin International Film Festival to acquaint themselves with current trends in world cinema. These international journalists attend film screenings and events of the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Berlinale. Under the tutelage of prominent film writers they share their impressions and insights by writing daily articles for the Campus and the Talent Press websites. The articles also appear on the websites of FIPRESCI and the Goethe-Institut. Visit the Talent Press website, a platform for young film critics and journalists from around the world.more
Campus Studio
The Campus Studio focuses on improving films in the last stage of production. Selected talents are assisted by first-class experts in the digital post-production processes including editing, grading, credit designing and mastering and by first-class editors with rough cut editing. The Campus Studio offers professional equipment, the latest digital workflows, industry insights, the most cutting-edge examples to be inspired by, and a broad range of experts who coach participating talents.more
Talent Actors Stage
The Talent Actors Stage is a hands-on training programme for a group of approx. 20 actors. The training programme provides a wide variety of training opportunities in acting technique, working with dialogue, casting and camera acting. This hands-on training programme is not only intended for actors: it mainly focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration with directors, producers, screenwriters and cinematographers in order to encourage exchange between different areas of filmmaking.
