In Charleston Mississippi, the local high school still has separate Prom dances for their Seniors--one for Black students and one for White students. Morgan Freeman, a Charleston resident, makes the school an offer: if they can stage an integrated prom, he will pay for the whole thing. Prom Night follows the students as they try to overcome their differences and plan the first ever integrated prom.
